Out of that lot I'll eat peas, cauliflower, beets, onions, neeps, cabbage and kale (at a push).  You can eat the rest yourself.

I can't eat Beetroot, might need to be rushed to hospital if I did.
I found out at primary school (at least the District Nurse that visited did) that I had a very bad reaction to Beetroot.  I did try to tell the school that I didn't feel well when I had Beetroot, but they made me eat it and the rest of the day was waisted.  I just sat at my desk feeling awful, and that was just from the small bit they forced me to eat.
The nurse who had stayed for lunch at the school as she had been checking children or doing jabs, I can't remember, saw me refusing to eat the Beetroot and the teacher trying to make me eat some of it came over and asked why I didn't want to eat it.  I told her it made me feel ill, at which the teacher said I had never told her that it made me feel ill.  By this time I had been made to eat a bit and started to feel sick.  So the nurse took me away to the office to wait for her to come back.  She told me to go to the toilet if I was going to be sick.  She returned later after she had finished her lunch (which was served after they had dished out the food to us and shoved us outside) which was served in the kitchen.  There was only one cook and the teachers always went into the kitchen to eat.
When the nurse came to see me again she said the cook had whispered to her that I had said I felt ill and that is why I wouldn't eat the beetroot.
Then she took my temperature and asked how I was feeling.  She took a bit of beetroot, which was still raw and rubbed it into my arm, she got a reaction in no time.  She then asked me to stick out my tongue, so I did and she rubbed another bit on my tongue.  After a minute or less, she asked me to stick out my tongue.  She let out a gasp and told me to get my stuff out of the classroom and wait by the door of the school.
She appeared from the direction of the kitchen and said she was taking me to the doctor (who was 7 miles away) but I had to go to the local hospital just up the road from the doctors.
I think I got an injection, or had to drink something or both, that is a bit vague, so was going back home as I didn't have to go to school that day or the day after   After that, I was never asked to eat beetroot
As well as having a reaction to it I couldn't even go into the house when my mother was cooking the stuff as it would make me feel very ill.
It was not a problem when I was at school as she did it when I was at school and then ventilated the house as best as she could.  When I started work I would sometimes come home, so she had to make sure I was not going to come home during the day before she could ventilate the house.
Doctors still say in an amazed voice "Beetroot" when they look at my records.  I have to watch for it being used as a colour n some foods and in medicines.  Doctors are not the best at looking at records so it is on the computer so it flags it up right away both locally and in hospital.
It is on the paper records stamped inside the cover in red, and on any new files.  They missed it when I went into hospital a couple of years ago, but at least I could point it out to them.  The first thing the doctor did when I told him how bad my reaction to it was, was to write on top of the file he had in red.  He then said he was amazed he didn't see it inside the cover of my files (I used to have a small file, you should see them now after being in a couple of years back   ) just shows you, he was the umpteenth doctor to look at them before I said something and none of them noticed, at least none of them said anything of they did!
However, Some of the nurses had noticed as the second day my menu card had "NO BEETROOT" written on it and I hadn't said anything to them.
Yet they let me down when I went for scans and was told NOT TO TAKE CERTAIN TABLETS and they gave me them before I pointed out that I couldn't take them due to the scan.
So that is one veggie I can't eat.  Don't like the stuff anyway, but that may be because it made me ill, I have never tasted it since to find out.  It is the only thing I know of that I have any reaction to.  My sisters react to all sorts of things like Horses, cats, dogs (we had a dog and it never appeared to bother them) rabbits, mites, and a host of other things.
My brother, well, that is another story, he was in hospital with red skin that was peeling off, he had creams, treatments, god knows what, I don't think they ever found out what caused it.  I think it was some of the special paints and chemicals in them that was used on oil rigs, but I am no doctor.
